Fruit for this hauntingly aromatic 1er Cru Burgundy comes from a small one-hectare plot of 50+ year old vines. The juice is vibrant, sophisticated, and rather large for Nuits-St-Georges. Medium to full-bodied flavors of black fruits, red currants, game, and damp earth dominate the wine’s layered palate. When it comes to NSG, Gouges is as good as it gets.
