‘Les Fourneaux’ is classic Bize: earth-driven, red-fruited, and noted with pleasant spice thanks to whole-cluster inclusion and well-integrated oak. This juice is a bit more muscular than other Bize cuvées due to the high content of clay in the soils. Serve this wine slightly chilled alongside savory lamb dishes or mushroom-based sauces. (‘Les Fournaux’ is the easternmost plot of premier cru vines in Savigny-lès-Beaune. The name pays homage to the former ovens used for melting ore in the region.)
