Gaetana Jacono represents the sixth generation of winemakers at her family’s estate, Valle dell’Acate, which is located in the southeastern province of Ragusa (Sicily). After completing her pharmacy degree, Jacono found that her passion truly was with her family’s winemaking past and inidigenous Sicilian varieties. In 2013, she was chosen as brand ambassador for the wines of Cerasuolo di Vittoria, thanks to her fierce dedication and unstoppable winemaking talent. Vall del’Acate’s Cerasuolo di Vittoria is produced from organic fruit and is a 60/40 blend of Nero d’Avola and Frappato. Juice ferments with native yeasts and is aged for one year in barrel/tonneaux.
