Hure Frere is a family business through and through. Run by brothers François and Pierre, with guidance from their father Raoul, this winery harnasses the potential of Ludes; a fantastic Premier Cru on the Reims mountain. The brothers believe that great Champagne starts in the vines, and they farm all their vineyards using Biodynamic and Organic practices. A far cry from the industrial style farming favoured by big Champagne houses. Insouciance Rose comes from some of their oldest vines planted in premier cru terroirs. The fruit from each plot is prepared separately before the wine is assembled. They are vinified in stainless steel tanks, foudres and used barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously and the wine ages on lees for 18 months. This wine is fresh and delicious and is incredible on it's own but pairs perfectly with charcuterie or even a whole roasted chicken and root vegetables.
