Founded in 1975 by Juan Penagaricano, Bodegas Akutain focuses on small-batch, high quality wines from Rioja, produced in a traditional style. Fruit comes from high-elevation growing sites across the Rioja Alta region, where cool air and warm sunshine create optimal growing conditions for growing grapes. ‘Cosecha’ is composed mostly of Tempranillo and Garnacha that ferments with wild yeasts and ages in fiberglass. Youthful and dark-fruited, the wine shines alongside traditional Spanish tapas and jamon-heavy charcuterie boards.
