Tenuta dell’Ornellaia was founded by Marchese Lodovico Antinori of the famed Tuscan family. Vineyards were first planted in 1981 and the estate is situated right next to Tenuta San Guido, the producers of Italy’s original ‘Super Tuscan’ (Sassicaia). ‘Le Serre Nuove’ is a Merlot-dominant ‘Bordeaux blend.’ Fruit is hand-picked & hand-sorted, fermented in steel, then aged in barrel (25% new) for 15 months. 2017 marks the 20th vintage of this wine.
