Merkin Vineyards’ wines are produced from 44 hectares of vines in Wilcox and Verde Valley, Arizona. Wines are produced as sustainably as possible at the hands of MJ & Jen Keenan, Tim White, and Erin Center. ‘Chupacabra’ Red is a 40/40/20 blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre sourced from high-altitude (4300 feet) vineyard sites in Arizona. Grapes were handpicked, hand-sorted, and aged for 11 months in neutral French oak. Notes of earth, cured meat, red and black cherries, and black plum dominate this rustic yet fruit-forward palate.
