When not running the wine program at Portland’s The Heathman, James Rahn makes small batch/minimal intervention wine and Portland’s infamous SE Wine Collective. Rahn reveals that in addition to being the one that introduces wines to consumers at the bar, he also wants to be ‘the guy who actually put the juice in the bottle.’ This juicy and easy-drinking Gamay Noir is earth-driven and fruit-forward, marked by notes of black plum, currant, wet earth, and spice.
