This opulent yet balanced varietal Chardonnay is loaded with flavors of fleshy stone fruit, toasted almonds, pear skin, and crushed seashells. Rich yet restrained, the wine is a pure work of love by Steve and Jill Matthiasson, as this fruit comes from one of the couple’s rockiest and hardest-to-farm sites. The wine is barrel-fermented, undergoes malo, and is lees-aged (no bâtonnage) for 18 months in a combination of used and new French oak barrels.
