Founded by Joel Burt and Eric Wareheim, Las Jaras seeks to create balanced, low-alcohol, and easy-drinking wines. Fruit for their Oregon Pinot Noir comes from an organic, dry farmed, and south-west facing vineyard site in the Chehelem Mountains. Grapes are 80% destemmed and ferment naturally in tank, followed by aging in new and used large format barrels. Aromatic and lively, the wine shows flavors of tart raspberry, bitter dark chocolate, black cherry, and wet earth. Dense yet balanced, this chuggable wine is perfect with pizza, duck breast, and all things mushroom.
