Since the 1940s, Bartolo Mascarello was known for his traditional, rustic winemaking practices in the Langhe, advocating for ‘old-school’ methods of producing legendary Nebbiolo. A supporter of traditional botti over barrique, as well as ‘cap holding’, Bartolo’s Baroli are known for being rich and concentrated, with strong aromatics and age-worthy potential. The 2004 vintage is plummy and powerful, with aromas of citrus, rose petal, and dried herbs present on the nose; well-integrated chewy tannins make this wine delightful on the table.
