Since the 1940s, Bartolo Mascarello was known for his traditional, rustic winemaking practices in the Langhe, advocating for ‘old-school’ methods of producing legendary Nebbiolo. A supporter of traditional botti over barrique, as well as ‘cap holding’, Bartolo’s Baroli are known for being rich and concentrated, with strong aromatics and age-worthy potential. The 2008 vintage is aromatic and refined, full of floral perfume and tar-tinged, forest fruit flavors. Juicy, textured, and gorgeous alongside game or red meat.
