'Rebel' (Guimaro, in the local Gallego dilaect) winemaker Pedro Rodriguez founded this Galicia based estate back in 1991. Old vines and low yields lead to concentrated and healthy fruit, which Rodriguez vinifies with a 'minimalist' mentality in the cellar. This new cuvée from Pedro is the only wine he makes with all whole clusters included. Stemmy, savory, and super easy to drink this cool-climate varietal Mencia is quickly becoming one of our favorite wines-- think Galicia meets Old School whole bunch Burgundy and Northern Rhone.
