Known for producing some of Piedmont’s greatest Nebbiolo and Barbera, Giacomo Conterno has become regarded as regional winemaking royalty, crafting world-famous cuvées for the last 100 years. ‘Francia’ is a classic Barolo, showing powerful body, alcohol, and present tannins, as well as incredible aging potential. The 2011 vintage is elegant and bright, full of floral aromatics and a striking minerality. Soil-driven, intense, and noted with undertones of truffle and tar; another vintage where ‘Monfortino’ was not produced, giving power and concentration to ‘Francia.’
