Founded in 1931 by Franck’s grandfather, the Balthazar family estate began bottling wines under their own name in 1980. Parcels are fermented separately, stems are included, and aging is done in demi-muids. ‘Cuvée Casimir’ pays homage to Franck’s grandfather and ferments with 100% whole bunches and native yeasts. Red fruits on the nose give way to a hearty palate of cherries, red fruits, wet earth, and smoke, leading to a crunchy and mouth filling finish.
